| Résumé: | This study involved the analysis of 1 ,509 reproduction performance
of D'man, Sardi and D'man x Sardi .F1 ewes recorded over
five lambing seasons at the Experimental Farm at Tadla. Litter
sizes of D'man, Sardi and F1 ewes were 1.80, 1.20 and 1.55 respectively,
and their ovulation ~ates were 2.56, 1.23 and 1.92
respectively. Embryo survival adjusted for ovulation rate was
not influenced by the genotype of the ewe, but decreased as the
number of corpora lutea shed increased. The percentages of embryo
mortalitywere 11.8 , 13.2, 20.8 and 33.7 for 1, 2, 3 and 4
or greater c~rpora lutea respectively.
Estimates of heterosis effects were 1.4% and -0.5% for litter
size and ovulation rate respectively. Embryo mortality wa~
lower for crossbred ewes, the heterosis was - 14.6 %. Repeatability
estima tes of litter size, ovulation rate and embryo mortaliry
were 0.18, 0.42 and 0.19 respectively for D'man breed,and
0.11, 0.17 and 0.09 respectively for Sardi breed. |
