Résumé: Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is a perennial plant, the pillar of oasis’s ecosystem and a target to pests attack. Distribution and the incidence of date palm pests varied differently in each country, between regions and date palm plantations. During 2017, a study was carried on 4,320 date palm trees in 113 farms in Figuig oasis (Morocco). The objective of this survey was to document major pests of date palm in Figuig oasis, their geographic distribution in two types of cultivation systems (traditional and modern plantations) and the sensitivity of important cultivars ‘Assian’, ‘Aziza bouzid’ and ‘Boufeguous’ towards pest’s infestations. The results revealed the presence of three major arthropods species in Figuig oasis infesting date palm with the first on the pest recorded on leaves Parlatoria blanchardi Targ, (Homoptera) present largely in oasis, the second pest on the fruits Oligonychus afrasiaticus McGregor (Tetranychidae) mainly present in modern plantations, and the third was Camponotus thoracicus Fabricius (Hymnoptera), recorded for the first time as date palm pest of stem and roots in both traditional and modern plantations. The factorial projection of the modalities confirmed the Chi-square test results by showing independence between cultivars and pests’ modalities. In fact, different groups represent sensitivity between modalities of two cultivars ‘Aziza bouzid’ and ‘Boufeggous’ to Parlatoria blanchardi and the other case of sensitivity can be noted between ‘Assian’ and Oligonychus afrasiaticus. The resultant maps from this study can be used to identify high-risk areas for increased monitoring and awareness of major date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) pests in Figuig oasis
